Philippines Video Update

Hey everyone! After over 20 hours of flight time, we finally made it to the Philippines! We spent the afternoon of November 12th in a town just outside of Manila distributing goods for people affected by the recent typhoons in the Philippines. Already, this has become one of the most life-changing journeys we've ever been on. Check out the latest video update here and subscribe to our Youtube channel to make sure you are the first to get new updates!

Hello friends!

This is it! This is our chance to leave a positive mark on the world...together. We've spoken all year long about community and the power that lies within the voice of many joined together as one. Now, it's time to use that voice and use it loudly!

We are just hours away from the end of the Ideablob.com competition for $10,000. Thank you so much to everyone who has shown their support by voting for our idea and spreading the word for us. No matter what happens, it was a noble effort and we could not have acheived anything without your help.

WE HAVE ONE LAST CHANCE!

If you have not voted for our idea on Ideablob.com, there is still time! Please, please, please take a moment to register on Ideablob.com and vote and spread the word to your family and friends.

Vote for our idea on Ideablob.com here!

Just think, if everyone reading this votes just one time, we will win. If we win, thousands of students and teachers in 50 states will directly benefit from receiving the $10,000 grant that we will give them...and that is a beautiful thing!

We're in the Finals! Vote for Mae on Ideablob.com!

Hey everyone,

Thanks to you, we are in the finals of the Ideablob competition for $10,000, but here's the catch... the competition is now more fierce than ever and we can only win with your help! The competition ends October 31st.

Please take a moment to register and vote for our idea on Ideablob here!

Earlier this year, you helped us successfully win $10,000 on Ideablob which went directly to help build a home for a family in need in Newport News, VA in conjunction with Habitat For Humanity. This time, we are partnering with Donorschoose.org to help fund an educational project in every state. By helping teachers receive the supplies they need to make the educational experience more fun, thorough, and priceless, we can make a difference in literally thousands of children's' lives! Please take a moment to register and vote for our idea and help us win $10,000 for Donorschoose.org and teachers in need!

Vote for our idea here and please pass on our message to your friends, families, co-workers, and anyone else who will listen!

Vote for our idea on Ideablob.com!

Hello friends!

We need your help! Once again, we are competing on Ideablob.com for a chance to win $10,000. Earlier this year, you helped us successfully win $10,000 which went directly to help build a home or a family in need in Newport News, VA in conjunction with Habitat For Humanity.

The current chapter of the Mae story focuses on education and helping further the experience that teachers wish to provide their students in the classroom. We are currently partnering with Donorschoose.org to help teachers receive the supplies they can not afford to make each educational experience fun, thorough, and priceless. This time, if we win, we will give all of the $10,000 to Donorschoose.org and to teachers in need!

Over the next two weeks, we will be asking you to vote for us on two separate occasions. Once to help us make the finals and once to help us WIN IT ALL! Please take a moment register and vote for our idea and help us make the finals!

VOTE FOR OUR IDEA HERE

We love you so much and would never be able to do this without you. Let's show the world again why Mae fans are the best fans in the world!

Mae Community Outreach Project

Hello friends!

For the upcoming (a)fternoon Tour, we are literally "taking it to the streets" to make an impact locally in every city we will be in. We are partnering up with our friends and fans on Maeteam to orchestrate a community outreach activity every day. In addition to meeting up with our fans locally to serve their communities, after each show we will be performing acoustically for donations, all of which will go directly to the local chapter of Donors Choose. Our goal is to impact a school in every state in the country.

If you are not on Maeteam, sign up and start to create relationships with people in your region. Get involved in the forum and contribute your ideas about what we can do to make a positive difference in your community. We will work together, side by side!

Tickets for the (a)fternoon Tour are on sale now. Check out whatismae.com for tour dates and to buy tickets!

Much love,
*mae

New Song "The Fight Song (Crash and Burn)" Online Now!

Hey everyone!

After a short delay, we are so happy to bring you the July song...in August! This month's song is called "The Fight Song (Crash and Burn)." The past week has been a whirlwind of the most inspiring events we can remember. We have just arrived back in the United States after having the privilege of traveling to Indonesia to play a show in Bandung. It was an honor to be the first international act to perform in the country since the bombings that occurred the previous week. The experience was mesmerizing and words can't describe the energy we felt. Despite tragedy, the people of Indonesia exuded a warmth and appreciation that was immeasurable, and it is impossible to not be moved by the interaction. Community and the ideal of global unity is continually challenged by cowardly acts like the one that happened in Jakarta so recently, yet the human spirit remains tenacious and undeterred, and continually motivated to become the rule, not the exception. Nothing is more eye opening than a humbling experience, such as the one we experienced, which reminds us of our strength and vulnerability simultaneously. We are blessed that we can use our songs to fight against terrorism, whatever reasoning it claims, whatever form it may take. Music is a paralyzing medium that transcends and can overcome any barriers that happen to fall onto our path. We are grateful to our fans and friends in Indonesia for giving us a time that we won't soon forget.

August will find us holed up in the studio continuously working on new music and preparing for the (a)fternoon tour which begins in September! Please go to whatismae.com and check out the dates as soon as you get a chance. Also, if you haven't already, make your way over to Maeteam and join up! It's new and better than ever. We will be starting weekly chats this month, so get your questions ready!

Thank you for your donation! Please continue to be inspired, be creative, and most of all, be good to each other.

We love you!
*mae

Indonesia Show This Sunday!

Hey everyone,

We are so excited to finally have the opportunity to play our first ever show for all of our fans in Indonesia this coming Sunday, July 26th.  As we are sure you've heard, last week's terrorist bombings in Jakarta have sent a shockwave throughout the international community.  We have been inspired by the opportunity to show a generation of youth in Indonesia that terror is only as strong as the power that we give it. The great challenge our generation faces is to rise above this very fear. The terror that struck Indonesia last Friday is the same terror that struck our own towers in New York only a few years ago. As artists, this isn't just another show to play. This is our chance to take a stand for peace, for community, and for what is right. This is our chance to lend our voices and our music to those who need it the most. This show is a declaration of hope and friendship to the people of Indonesia.

We can't wait to share our experiences in Indonesia with you and we can't wait to see our friends and fans in Indonesia this Sunday!

Much love,
*mae

New Song "The Cure" Online Now! Donate and Make A Difference!

Hello friends!

Today is June 21st, the first day of Summer, and we are happy to bring you the second song from the (a)fternoon EP. This song is called "The Cure" and it's a nice and lazy love song. We hope you enjoy its languid romance. While we are all still reeling over what we accomplished with Habitat For Humanity, this is not the time to slow down! We are proud to be partnering up with DonorsChoose.org, an amazing organization that employs a beautifully simple idea. With the mounting pressure on public school teachers to provide thorough curriculum, all the while having their budgets cut, DonorsChoose.org provides those teachers a forum online that allows them to request donations so that they can execute their methods of teaching to the best of their ability. How you can help is just as beautifully simple! By continuing to donate and download each new song at our website, whatismae.com, your monetary contributions will go directly towards those educational projects. Our goal is to fund one educational project in all 50 states and throughout this campaign, we will document exactly which projects are being funded and the difference that is being made in the lives of teachers and students all across the United States.

Please visit whatismae.com and make a donation. When you are done, tell a friend to do the same. If you haven't done so already, grab the Mae widget from our website and post it on your personal blog, Facebook, or Myspace profile. Make a donation and download "The Cure" here!

Love and thanks,
*mae
